Developing and Maintaining Participation, Roles and Responsibilities
These resources and tools support collaborations to ensure that the ”right mix” of organizations, and families, are recruited, reflective of community, and prepared for and able to advance collaboration work.
Resources will be included that support the development of what participation in the collaboration means, and roles and responsibilities within the collaboration that support decision making, accountability, and shared activities
- Identifying Members for your Collaboration – This tool supports brainstorming of categories of organizations/ groups to participate in the collaboration and the contact person.
- Engagement/Re-engagement of Stakeholder(s) – This guide supports discussion on engaging/re-engaging stakeholders and exploring what engagement in the collaboration means.
- Stakeholder Map - This tool provides a process for identifying the right stakeholders to be involved in the collaborative group, including how to move beyond the ‘usual suspects’ involved in the issue area.
- Team Skills Profile: Areas of Expertise and Spheres of Influence – This tool guides the creation of a list of each member’s unique area of expertise – both personally and within the collaboration that can contribute to the overall success of the work.
- Prioritizing Potential Partners Based on Partnership Goals – This tool prioritizes outreach by ranking the usefulness and ease of recruiting partners.
- Expertise and Resource Inventory – Used at the individual, participant level, this tool identifies areas of expertise and time commitment.
- Parent Leadership – This resource provides an overview of the philosophy of strong parent leadership and involves parents in the collaboration.
- Parent Leadership on the Great Start Collaboratives – This toolkit focuses on the robust engagement of parents in all levels of collaboration and includes support for why and how to engage parents.
- Suggested Coalition Member Roles and Responsibilities – This resource is a brief list of expected roles and responsibilities for members.
- Organizing Stakeholders: Building a participation/membership structure – This resource offers content on building a structure for membership with a community example of addressing the issue of organizing stakeholders within their collaboration effort.
- Coalition Member Checklist – This checklist supports considering organizational participation in the following areas: their importance to the work of the coalition, the feasibility of getting them involved, and, if they already participate, the level of their involvement.
- Building a Memorandum – This template provides content areas/examples for a basic memorandum of agreement/support demonstrating commitment of one organization to a collaboration.
- Building a Memorandum of Collaboration – This template is for building a two way memorandum of collaboration and includes a community sample.
