Home-Based Child Care: Incorporating Home-Based Educator Wellness in Equitable Early Childhood Systems
April 18 2023
3:00 PM EST
This home-based child care (HBCC) webinar, like all of BUILD’s others, is based on our core beliefs about HBCC as well as the facts that (1) HBCC meets a critical need for families, (2) there is a need to build a lasting HBCC infrastructure through systemic supports, and (3) networks can be used to create this lasting infrastructure.
In this session we will continue our exploration of the importance of home-based child care educator wellness in creating equitable early childhood systems. We are excited to welcome back Shayla Collins (UW Center for Child & Family Well-Being) who will model wellness strategies for us that HBCC educators can use as well. Then, we will hear from Dr. Rena Hallam (Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood) and Dr. Laura Lessard (Childcare Wellbeing Initiative) who will share with us an innovative way to incorporate HBCC educator wellness from a systems approach. Pilar Torres (LUNA) will discuss a holistic wellness program designed for Spanish-speaking educators.
