We Can’t Do It Alone: The Role of Local Government in Statewide PN-3 Efforts
January 19
1:00 PM EDT
Local governments have a significant impact on what opportunities and resources are available for young children and families. Because of their proximity to residents, city and county leaders are well-positioned to understand and respond to families’ needs and wants. Cities and counties can also serve as laboratories of innovation where new policies and programs can be piloted. State and local leaders can work together to create solutions that are informed by local pilots and reflect lessons learned, and can be scaled at the state level.
Join this webinar to learn more about how Franklin County and the City of Columbus are increasing access to child care and maternal health services for residents, especially those from historically marginalized communities, and hear how this work is informing Ohio’s state-level prenatal-to-three efforts.
Panelists:
- PJ Gamble, Early Learning Policy Administrator, Franklin County Board of Commissioners
- Lynanne Gutierrez, Chief Operating & Policy Officer, Groundwork Ohio
- Matt Smydo, Executive Director, Office of Education, City of Columbus
